Our shuttle service is an easy, safe and comfortable way to travel throughout Costa Rica. A shuttle service is a shared, hotel-to-hotel transportation between main tourist destinations in Costa Rica. Reservation is needed.

What is a Shuttle Service?

Our Shuttle Services are the most convenient way to travel between hotels in Costa Rica. These Shuttle Services connect all the main tourist destinations in the country, thus affording our passengers a comfortable, reliable way to travel around Costa Rica without any hassles or worries. Our professional drivers provide efficient, safe door-to-door service between hotels. All of our units are air-conditioned and non-smoking. To board our vehicles a reservation is needed and availability is guaranteed with 72-hours advance notice. Each passenger is allowed one carry-on and one item of luggage. Car seats for children are provided upon request.

How much luggage am I allowed?

Each passenger is allowed one carry-on and one item of checked luggage. The carry-on must stay with the passenger at all times, while the luggage item will be tagged and placed in the luggage compartment. Neither Interbus nor InterbusOnline.com will be held responsible for loss or damage to carry-on items left unsupervised by the passenger. This includes carry-on items incorrectly stored with the luggage. Transportation of additional luggage, or large items are not included in the price and must be arranged ahead of time with Interbus. A payment is required for each extra item, according to the rate existing. Additional luggage or large items will be stored in the luggage compartment. All extra items are accepted according to available space. If there is no space remaining, extra items cannot be transported.

Can I take my pet with me?

No animals are allowed on the vehicles, with the exception of seeing-eye and guide dogs.

What are the sizes of the vehicles?

Interbus generally uses 15-passenger sizes vans which have been adapted to transfer no more than 8 people for greater comfort.

Smaller vans considerably reduce the time lost during pick-ups and drop-offs, leaving passengers with more time to invest in their vacation.

Occasionally Interbus will use 30-passenger sizes vehicles, but in these cases only 16 passengers are allowed on board.

In all cases, the luggage will always be placed inside the vehicle to safeguard passenger possessions.

Are there restrooms available on the vehicles?

There are generally no restrooms aboard vehicles.

However, our policies require that longer trips must include one or two rest stops of 15 minutes.

Each of these rest stops takes place at restaurants or "sodas" for the benefit of our passengers.

These stops always include areas with clean bathrooms and fresh food.

Shuttle leaves in the Morining and Afternoon from most Hotels is San Jose and Alajuela. If you wish to take the shuttle the same day you fly in, the shuttle leaves at 07:30 am and 3:00 pm from a Restaurante called Calalu, 5 min taxi drive from the Airport.

Cancellation Policy

1. Our service is from hotel to hotel and reservation is needed to ride our buses.
By law, we can not accept passengers with no reservation even if they are in a hotel where we do pick up and there are seats available.

2. Cancellations free of charge can be made within 30 days prior to departure; after that term 100% of the rate will be charged.

3. NO SHOW is charged 100% of the rate.

4. The pick up time may vary in a 15-minute interval.

5. At pick up place the driver will wait a maximum of 10 minutes for a customer as this is a shared service.
If passenger doesnÂt show after 10 minutes passed the pick up time it will considered NO SHOW and 100% of the rate will be charged.

6. Each passenger is allowed one carry-on and one item of luggage.
If the passenger travel with an additional luggage piece it is considered as extra luggage and must be previously reserved. Each extra luggage will be charged, according to the rate existing.

7. Carry-on items are passengerÂs responsibility during the whole trip and should remain with the passenger at all times during the trip.

8. Interbus will not be held liable for loss or damage to carry-on items not properly supervised by the passenger.
This includes carry-on items incorrectly placed inside the luggage compartment.

9.A fee will be charged for each additional luggage, according to the rate existing.
This items require advanced reservation. We donÂt transport surfboards, bicycles, kayaks. All items other than luggage must be notified to Interbus and we do reserve the right of transportation.

10. Interbus can not be held responsible for items lost or left behind in our vehicles.

11. Children under 12 years of age pay 50% of the adult rate.

12. Children between 6 months and 3 years of age must use a baby car seat for during the trip.
These are provided free of charge and must be requested when making the reservation.

13. All transfers include a 15 minutes rest stop.
This stop may be a connection point or may involve a change of vehicle depending on the route.

14. No pets will be allowed on the vans (except for guide dogs accompanied by their owners).

15. Interbus can not be held responsible for schedule changes in ferry services, nor for accidents and/or loss of luggage during the trip on the ferry.

16. Interbus may change or cancel any service without reimbursement for reasons beyond its control, such as: strikes, weather conditions, war or local guerrillas, public demonstrations, natural disasters or acts of terrorism.
