Getting from Nicaragua to Monteverde in one day via Public Bus.
Get to the boarder the earliest posible and then catch a Bus to Liberia or Direct to San Jose, Costa Rica, (If you go to Liberia, then you have to catch a bus going to San Jose. )
Have the driver get you off on the highway in the intersection called SARDINAL. Once In Sardinal buses heading to Monteverde go through at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, you then will arrive Monteverde at 5:00 pm or 7:00 pm . There is also a bus going through Sardinal at 9:00 am which gets to Monteverde around 11:00 am.
Buses can be up to 30 minutes late or early in Sardinal , depending on trafic conditions, but they are regularly on time.
